4 Can Do More Claim Election "Irregularities"
Candidate's wife "100% believes" the election was stolen.
As previously reported the “4 Can Do More” school board candidates in Cherokee County did not perform well on election night. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Get Schooled blog led with the headline “Cherokee voters rebuff outside influence on their school district” in reference to the 1776 Project PAC that endorsed and financed the group.
Cam Waters posted a concession on his campaign page—thanking his supporters, God, and his wife.
Behind the scenes, however, it appears the “4 Can Do More” do not accept the results. On their private Facebook group (that once displayed a QAnon code-phrase) they put out an urgent call to action: “WE MUST STOP CERTIFICATION.”
Claims of election fraud might sound familiar coming from Republicans at this point. The candidate’s wife, Jessica Taylor Waters, believes the election was stolen from her husband, “as crazy it sounds.”
Perhaps Mrs. Waters and her online friend don’t understand that Georgia is an Open Primary state, and that any registered voter can pull a ballot from either party. And in a region dominated by one party (such as Cherokee County) this tactic can often be the only way to secure more reasonable candidates.
I’ll continue to follow this developing story about claims of election irregularities by the 4 Can Do More candidates and their supporters.
Update
5/28/2022 12:15 AM: On Friday evening the Cherokee County elections board voted—unanimously—to certify the results of Tuesday’s primary election. Over 100 protesters called for a hand recount, but were ultimately ignored, as reported by the Cherokee Tribune.
